If the Pokemon was just straight up spawned from the horrific void that awaits us all, then Poke Transporter will say "Nope, jokes, you ain't got no magic dust. This bitch is going back to the box!" and it won't let you transfer it, which is why I can never have my blue-berry flavored Mew. I don't know if cheat activated events circumvent this, but the worst thing that could happen if you try to bring 'em over is that it will just keep the Pokemon in question in Box 1.

I beat him by dropping a bunch of rocks on him along with zapmon doing his thing.

Paraflinch is such a staple of play that if you should expect it. That's not gimmicky. Okay, Rocksliding instead of something like Serene Grace Headbutt makes it less common, but that's just making life easier for them. He really has no excuse (though cute trick with Flying Discharge + Ground Earthquake).

That was pretty close, really, thanks to all of his Protect-stalling.

Now that Genesect has been banned my team is screwed. I started playing under a different name post-ban and I'm stuck at 1500. I have yet to find a good replacement for Genesect in my team ._.

I was going total gimmick team there:
-Arcanine@Shell Bell (Intimidate; Wild Charge/XtremeSpeed/Crunch/Flare Blitz)
-Heatran@Balloon (Flash Fire; Heatwave/Flash Cannon/Earth Power/Can't Remember)
((If there was a "Hit everyone" Fire move I'd give them that and have Arcanine use Flash Fire too. As is, they hit using different stats, and if Arcanine is looking sad, it turns on Heatran with Flare Blitz to boost some power))
-Noivern@Some Item (Telepathy; Boomburst/Hurricane/Flamethrower/Draco Meteor - has yet to actually survive a single hit though)
-Golurk@Assault Vest (Iron Fist; Drain Punch/Fire Punch/Shadow Punch/Earthquake)
((These two partner up and use "Hits everyone" moves, each being immune to that of the other))
-Plusle and Minun@Item I can't remember (+/-; Discharge and 3 other moves, whatever)
((These two boost each others' stats and throw various debuffs around to annoy people. I think one of them *can* go Nasty Plot + Baton Pass. Also they can team up with either of the above two and not hit them with Discharge))

So it's a bit silly. But the previous game I won (close call, Arcanine took down Klefki in turn one, then Florges and Blissey basically strangled everything else out until Golurk came up and swept both of them as well as Aegislash. Bam), and this one as well. Both times were close calls and kind of cool.

And thus ends my "playing with that battle simulator and trying silly stuff".

Fucking Nintendo and their fucking refusal to redistribute the event-only Pokemon for each Gen.

I mean, for example, the last time Manaphy was distributed in the US was in 2007. 2000-fucking-7.

I know wishing death on people is against the rules, but what about wishing mayhem on a corporation?

That'd be a step in the right direction, but in this case Manaphy would still be better because Manaphy can breed legions of Phiones that could rise to take over the world (but not vice-versa), so then I'd get to have my cliché and eat it, too.

In general, I have a problem with unobtainable event legendaries. Just thinking about it raises my blood pressure.

And so I decided to do some more Showdown battling. I've done better than 50-50 with my BLOB team consisting of:
-Muk@Black Sludge (Stench; Curse/Shadow Sneak/Ice Punch/Poison Jab)
-Magcargo@Water Berry (Flame Body; Stealth Rock/Infestation/Shell Smash/Flamethrower)
-Gastrodon@Assault Vest (Sand Force; Earth Power/Scald/Sludge Wave/Ice Beam)
-Reuniclus@Safety Glasses (Regenerator; T-Wave/Calm Mind/Energy Ball/Psychic)
-Ditto@Sitrus Berry (Imposter; Transform)
-Goodra@Leftovers (Gooey; Acid Armour/Blizzard/Flamethrower/Draco Meteor)

Starting with Magcargo (Stealth Rock) or Reuniclus (T-Wave) generally seems to work best, then swapping about as necessary to piss people off with the bulky ones.

Magcargo seems like it has two sets crammed together into four moveslots and ends up being mediocre at both. Choose which one you want to go with and you'll probably have a bit better winrate.

Yeah, if I went for a proper Special Sweeper (maybe swap the Berry for an Assault Vest or a Balloon?) it could probably work better. Or I could use the Focus Sash and use it as a supportmon maybe.

The thing is, I was expecting to get zero wins - I'm playing in the OU field, limiting myself to a gimmick team, and didn't even put that much thought into them. There are probably just a lot of other mediocre players out there.

A hilarious thing happened with another team (Cute Things).

Sadly, the rest of that battle involved Talonflame sweeping half my party and then things slowing down, but it did end up 1-on-1 until they just scraped through. That one was exciting.

Hate it when that happens to my Ninetales, considered switching out to Energy Ball because of it but it hasn't happened often enough and I can usually predict it 'cause its that singing frog or the lizard that explodes to fighting moves.

Every now and then I bring that team out. Someone else gets some free points and we have a good laugh. Usually with Magikarp last - "NOW FOR MY TRUMP CARD! MAGIKARP... HIT EM WITH A SPLASH ATTACK!"

Though the trash talk leaves a lot to be desired. "My trump card!" "My trump card is my dick" "It's not very effective"

But that's the first time that team has won. Team Blob (now with Magcargo being Focus Sash, Weak Armour; Shell Smash, Flamethrower, Earth Power, Ancient Power, also known as "Fuck you, Aegislash/Skarmory") wins like 2/3 or 3/4 of the time.

On the other hand, team "Sonic Rejects" (Sandslash, Typhlosion, Azumarril, Diggersby, two others I forgot) is just as useless as you might expect. Good chuckle.

I can only assume that the Gen IV Lake Trio that look like Sonic Rejects aren't in because either bans on legendaries or because of the difficulty of transferring them over 2 generations.

I think you can use all three of them in OU actually. The fact that you never see them in OU is probably because they're not good enough for regular use.

But I just forgot they even existed, really. There are a bunch of things that could go in a "Sonic Rejects" team. Even decent stuff like Ferrothorn. Or I guess Magnezone could fit in as something RobotnikEggman would use.

Ah, I never gave a shit about tiered play so I just assumed it was "no legendaries." And Gen IV is where legendary bloat reached critical mass (trend started in Gen III) and so honestly a lot of them are not particularly memorable. I wouldn't remember the Sonic-looking motherfuckers if they didn't look like Sonic rejects, and I say that with Platinum being very high on my list of favorite Pokemon games (probably in top 3, definitely in top 5.)

I was in a dual battle, the guy had a mankey. I was thinking "There is something highly suspicious about using a MANKEY when everything else is fully evolved..." So I hit it with Fakeout and KO'd it with some attack I forgot.
When the battle ended I asked the guy what the mankey was for, the reply I got was "YOU'LL NEVER KNOW" as that person logged out.

Also: I've hit the 1400's mark in pokemonshowdown, the amount of whining over "fucking HAX, no skill flincher/confuseray!" has greatly increased.

Yeah, apparently people are furious over Pranksters with Foul Play and [Confuse Ray or Swagger, pick one] and will kill your family over it. No word on whether it will be banned, but it hardly matters, I don't use that.

And I haven't encountered it either, although what I have encountered, I've encountered so many times. I guess OU is called that for a reason. Even if I clean-sweep them, it's still "Oh how original! You have Skarmory, Blissey, Scizor, Aggron, Aegislash and Heatran!" Victory or defeat becomes completely inevitable and predictable. On the plus side of that, when you know what to expect, you can make that victory quite likely.

My "lol" team did manage to get *one* KO on an enemy pokemon. Carracosts got taken out by Dunsparce. Glare, Coil, Coil, Drill Rush, Drill Rush, bam. Against something that wasn't Rock (or Steel or Ghost) type, it'd of course be Headbutt for all of the paraflinch.
